Research makes it clear that the importance of public health cannot be understated. The CDC reviews that from 1900 to 1999, the average life expectancy of a person residing in the United States increased by 30 years. However, 25 of those years may be attributed to advances in public health. Not surprisingly, many colleges risen to the challenge and provide programs designed to train people for careers in public health.

Students achieve competence in all of the core disciplines through these programs. In abstract, the JHU PHS program takes benefit of the strengths of two schools throughout the similar university to increase the awareness of undergraduate college students to public health issues worldwide.
