Together, Interplay aspires to have a major influence on the popular music profession, training its future leaders through ethical advocacy, collaborative working and the sharing of best practice. Complementing the International Benchmarking Group, Interplay is a parallel professional network of educators, practitioners and students from the world’s finest conservatoire-based popular music programmes. They intend to keep the tradition of Choral and Chamber Music weekends alive. These have been held for more than 30 years and enable both instrumentalists and singers to make music together in a Quaker atmosphere. In the future, it may be possible for QMN to become an umbrella for other Quaker music-making projects. Recovery curriculum resources, using songs to address the key themes and losses caused by the pandemic and enrich children’s learning experiences.

Regional Early Years Music networking events allow members to meet peers and experienced EY music practitioners, share practice with each other and pick up new tools, resources, songs and games to use in their own settings. The IBG draws from a bespoke, detailed and sophisticated database to inform its work and steer the agendas for its meetings. These networks are a placed for teachers and facilitators to have supportive conversations in helping young people in SEMH settings move forwards in their individual musical journey.
This evening ‘In Good Company’ will also present traditional Irish (sean nós) songs, airs and Irish ballads. Niamh is a fiddle and viola player, composer, and former lead singer with Solas. A founding member of the Irish Memory Orchestra, she is one of the select few who can cross easily between classical and folk. Likewise with Séamus Mcguire, who brings all the richness of the viola to his traditional tunes and his sumptuous compositions for the West Ocean String Quartet and the band Buttons and Bows.

The Fair Plé movement was started in Ireland last year by internationally renowned singer/songwriter Karan Casey to raise awareness about and promote gender equality in traditional and folk music (). The Group went on to perform at the 20 th Return to Camden Town Festival and most recently at an International Women’s Day double bill concert with The Mulcahy Family at the Irish Cultural Centre, Hammersmith. This group will be limited in number, and be made up of those who can collaboratively represent the wide and diverse experiences of Bradford’s music sectors, from local grassroots through to those having a major impact on the regional and national music scene.
